Dans un article intitulé « We believe that the USA is the major player against Syria and the rest are its instruments » («Nous pensons que les Etats-Unis sont l’acteur majeur contre la Syrie et le reste sont ses instruments»), paru dans Belfast Telegraph , Robert Fisk évoque une entrevue qu’il a eu avec le ministre syrien des Affaires étrangères, Walid El-Mouallem. In an article entitled « We believe que les USA is the major player against Syria and the rest are icts instruments » (« We believe that the United States is a major player against Syria and the rest are his instruments »), published in Belfast Telegraph , Robert Fisk recalls an interview he had with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem.

El-Mouallem, cité par Robert Fisk, se souvient : « Alors que j’attendais pour entrer dans la réunion, il y avait le chef du parti tunisien Ennahdha (Rached Ghannouchi, Ndlr) . El-Moallem, quoted by Robert Fisk, recalls: « While I was waiting to get into the meeting, there was the leader of the Tunisian Ennahda (Rached Ghannouchi, Editor’s note). L’émir a ordonné de lui payer 150 millions de dollars pour aider son parti Ennahdha aux élections (du 23 octobre 2011, remportées par Ennahdha, Ndlr)». The emir ordered to pay $ 150 million to help his party Ennahda in elections (October 23, 2011, won by Ennahda, Editor’s note).  » El-Mouallem ajoute : « J’ai dit à l’émir :  »Vous aviez des relations très étroites avec Mouammar Kadhafi (…), alors pourquoi vous envoyez vos appareils pour attaquer la Libye et acceptez de faire partie de l’opération de l’Otan (contre la Libye, Ndlr)?  » L’Emir répond simplement:  »Parce que nous ne voulons pas perdre notre élan à Tunis et en Egypte – et Kadhafi était responsable de la division du Soudan. » » Al-Moallem added: « I told the Emir: » You had very close relations with Gaddafi (…), so why would you send your units to attack Libya and agree to be part of the operation NATO (against Libya, Editor’s note)? » Emir simply replied: » Because we do not want to lose momentum in Tunis and Egypt – and Gaddafi was responsible for the division of Sudan. » ‘
